Have you ever made soup from scratch before? Well until this recipe I was in the “no” category, but January is national soup month so I wanted to give it a try. Picking which soup to do was the hardest part and really I picked this soup recipe, because I wanted to justify to Lindsey as to why I needed these cool spoons lol. They bring a certain level of authenticity to the dish that a normal spoon just couldn’t provide don’t you think? Either way I love this soup and I always end up trading a piece of sushi for Lindz’s soup when we go to our favorite hibachi restaurant, so I was pretty excited to give this simple mushroom onion soup a try.

Y’all I have officially jumped on board the bell sleeves train ( what have I been waiting on?!?) I couldn’t help myself when I saw the lace details on this from Anjoulis Boutique. It has been such a lifesaver this month and totally saved me a couple times when I needed to look nice and didn’t want to put very much effort in ( we all have those days, right?) Happy Holidays! The weather is freezing in Houston right now y’all. ( Okay, not literally and to some you will laugh out loud when I say it is 47 degrees, but to us here in Houston – that is COLD.) I am trying not to complain too much though, last Christmas it was in the 90’s and this year, I ACTUALLY get to wear cute and cozy sweaters and ponchos (cue the happy dance!)
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s! John was LITERALLY in the city of love over Valentine’s! (Would have been so romantic, if I could have gone too! haha!) But since he had to go for a training and I couldn’t go – we will be celebrating Valentine’s/my birthday this weekend!
Anyways, today’s post is short and sweet – and showcases two of my current favorites. Hint: they are both MARBLE 🙂
FINALLYYYYYYY!!! I have been dying to post about this plaid blanket scarf, but Texas weather has had different plans. Literally it was in the 80’s on Christmas this year! & this scarf is really, really warm – like a blanket ( see what I did there LOL) Anyways, Winter has finally arrived in Houston and it’s time to bundle up in a blanket scarf!
We are picking up with Part 2 of the Christmas Home Tour! This has been such an amazing Christmas being able to decorate our new home and it being the first Christmas season to share it on the blog.
With a little help from my Mom ( a wreath making genius,) I made this Woodland Winter Wreath for a friend as a Christmas present, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to blog about it & share it with all of you! My favorite thing about this wreath, is that it can be used all throughout Winter and not just during Christmas time. I show you step – by – step how to make one for yourself or to give as a gift this holiday season.
