Give Yourself Permission to Slow Down

There is no reason to feel guilty for taking care of yourself. We all need that time to decompress and relax!I am easing my way into this new lifestyle with more bubble baths and face masks that I picked up from Lush in Market Street – The Woodlands. (Seriously one of my favorite stores!) I tried some new things, that I am excited to share with y’all today!

I bought several of the bath bombs and bubble bars from Lush and since I am a person that loves pretty things, I put them in a cute apothecary jar to display them. These bath bombs are AMAZING. They smell so good and one bath bomb and can be broken into 4-5 pieces ( depending on the size) so they last for multiple uses.

Truthfully, I bought this Karma Bubble Bar because of the gold shimmer on top! haha! They also had a unicorn horn and a hot pink flamingo that were too cute.

I also picked up the milky bath bubble bar and this pink bath bomb. The pink bath bomb was filled with little hearts!

Seriously, how cute is that little robot?! I am such a sucker for cute designs. I bought this and then looked it up on Lush’s website and it is actually meant for kiddo’s, but it can be used for adults too haha! It has lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood and is great to use before bed to whind down.

I usually read a book and put on a face mask while soaking in a bubble bath! These are my favorites right now.

Let’s talk face masks! I have used the Mask of Magnamity for years and it is a staple in my skincare routine. This mask is awesome for drawing out debris and oil from your pores and is very deep cleaning. This past month I branched out and also tried the Fresh Face Masks.They actually have to be kept in the fridge, which made the maskvery refreshing. I have been trying out The Sacred Truth mask, which is meant for dry or mature skin. It is very moisturizing, but the smell was a little too intense for me. I did really like the way my skin felt, but I plan on trying the Oatifixmask next instead. The Love Lettuce mask is great for all skin types and exfoliates and cleans, but in my opinion is not as intense as the mask of magnanimity.

I rotated these three masks each week for the last month and have loved how my skins has looked!

Okay,I will be honest, this is probably the best impulse purchase I have made in awhile. Whyyyyy did I go all winter without lip scrub?! This stuff is SO good and after I use the scrub, I use the Buttered Brazils lip balm. ( I really like the way they both smell!)

My Mom went with me to Lush and I bought us both one of these Pearl lotion massage bars. She won’t stop talking about how much she loves it! I know exactly what to get her for Mother’s Day this year. It smells divine. I like to use this before I go to bed, because it is a little too thick of a lotion for me to wear during the daytime.

So, if you need a reminder ( like I did) that it is okay to give yourself permission to slow down – then here it is! Even if that is just carving out an extra 15 minutes a week for you to take a bubble bath or put on a face mask, start setting some time for yourself! I am slowly learning that if I don’t take sometime for myself, then all the other areas of my life suffer and that is okay to slow down!

Stocking Stuffer Beauty Favorites

I love getting travel sized items in my stocking. Not only do they fit perfectly, but it allows me to try new things in a smaller size or have a favorite product to take on trips with me. So, even if you are unsure if they will like a product, you can’t go wrong with getting the travel size!

One of my favorites for the entire year is this Bela hair tie bracelet! It stylishly hides your hair tie and is such a cute stack-able bracelet too. The cozy socks, lotion, and hand sanitizer are all from Bath & Body Works

Kismet Cosmetics is amazing. I am SO obsessed with all of their lip products. My most worn that are almost always in my purse is the lip pluming gloss in Sangria (which I accidentally left in my purse and forgot to take a pic of,) the liquid lipstick in Elope and the Semi-Matte lipstick in Naked Gypsy.

I started using the Tula hydrating day & night creamback in February and haven’t looked back! I use it in the mornings and before bed. This past month, I have also been loving the purifying face cleanser ( it smells so good!)

May/June Beauty Favorites 2016

1. Urban Decay Beached Bronzer

Pretty packaging gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I literallycouldn’t keep my hands to myself (sorry, I just watched Selena Gomez and James Corden onCarpool Karokeand that song is stuck in my head now and will be for daysssss)when I saw this Urban Decay beached bronzer with palm trees on it! ahhh does it get anymore Summer time than that? I love trying new bronzers and this one did not disappoint!

2. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I usually use concealer to prime my eyes, but the girl at Ulta was good at her job and I came home with this as well! It really makes my eye shadow pop and stay on longer.It issuch a prettycolor on it’s own toothat lately I havejust been wearing the primer and atransition color in the crease.

3. Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream

I recently added this to my day and night time routine and I have to say I am LOVING it. It is supposed to nourish and hydrate your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines (which I amALL about!)It’snot too heavy for day time and I even like the way it feels at night. I still use a moisturizing mask occasionally when I am wanting a really hydrating mask, but for an everyday moisturizer, I like it a lot!

4. Hello Beautiful Body Lotion

I still and always will love Bath and Body Works. I go in every season and buy the seasonal scents and of course get the matching soaps for the house! I really love the Hello Beautiful scent. It smells AMAZING and the packaging is really pretty too!

April Style & Beauty Favorites 2016

I love the elegant and girly feelof the midi tulle skirt’s right now!I worethis skirtto Mother’s Day Brunch last weekend. It is very comfortable and versatile. You can dress it up with a more formal top or I also like to wear it with a chambray button-up and give it a more casual feel. I got mine from Francesca’s.Unfortunately, it is not on their website anymore, but here is a similar one from Anthropologie.

Before we move on to the beauty favorites, I have to tell you about this beautiful necklace from Atakcrafts.They are all handmade by Ashley. She has a variety of colors, but I choose the white/grey for Summer and it also has marble beads throughout! (If you saw my February Favorites, you know I LOVE marble.) It is a piece that can be worn with so much!

Beauty Favorites:

This Giorgio Armani foundation is AMAZING. For years now I have heard Jaclyn Hill rave about it, but I couldn’t get past the price tag. My friend, Tara, is a Sephora VIBRouge Memberand they were running a special where you bring a friend and they get 15% off, this caught my eye right when I walked in. I love this foundation! It covers well, without feeling “cakey.” It smells good and the bottle is pretty generous. I have combination skin and it worked great for me. I recommend talking to the Sephora makeup consultant and see if this is good match for your skin type.

I can now add Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer to my list of favorite concealers.It covers very well andIhaven’t noticed any creasing under my eyes. I will say it is a thicker than my other concealers, so the first couple times I used too much and it took me awhile to blend it out.

I got a sample of the Benefit Roller Lash from Ulta during my birthday month and I was on the fence at first, but I love it now! It takes me a couple weeks to get used to a new mascara and I will definitely purchase this when I run out of the sample. My lashes look so long & full when I wear it and it doesn’t irritate my overly sensitive eyes.

I will go on record to say, THIS IS THE BEST CANDLE YOU WILL EVER OWN. No joke. My whole family uses this candle and its our go-to gift for friends & hostesses. It smells amazing and you only have to burn it for a short period of time, because it smells up the entire house. I buy these at a local boutique , but I also found them online for you here.(If you are in the Spring/The Woodlands area in TX you can buy these at Thad’s in Old Town Spring or at The Blue Finch in Magnolia.)
