John and I planned a little weekend getaway to Fredericksburglast weekend and so I thought I would share in case you are looking for a place to go for a getaway also. We absolutely LOVED it there. Fredericksburg is such a cute town in the Hill Country of Texas that is known for it’s German heritage, cute shops, and amazing wineries!
One thing I love about The Woodlands/Houston is all of the events! There are always so many things going on. A couple weeks ago, was Wine & Food Week in The Woodlands, TX and H-E-B hosted a Wine Walk throughout Market Street! It was SO much fun and the perfect girl’s night. Not only was there a ton of food and wine, but even the stores had wine inside of them! (I could get used to that!)I had no idea, but apparently this is a yearly thing – so next year if you live this way, you should definitely check it out. I know I will be back for sure!
I wanted to share some big, small, and random life updates with you guys to explain why we haven’t posted as much lately and what has been on our minds && the dress that makes me feel like Sandy from Grease!
With Valentine’s right around the corner, I teamed up with two of my blogging besties, Bridget from To Celebrate Everything blog and Kelsey from Kelsey Byers blog for Galentine’s to share our thoughts on friendship, Galentine’s ideas, and of course our cute dresses from Francesca’s! I may have gotten a little carried away with this post, so grab a snack and stick with me to the end for a super fun giveaway announcement!
We decided in December that we would rotate month on who would be in charge of planning out date night. January was my month to plan, so I chose Jasper’s in Market Street – The Woodlands! ( I set the bar high, so that he had to plan something spectacular for February, aka my birthday month haha!)
This week has definitely been a stressful one – a ton of deadlines and I can’t really go anywhere ( unless my mouber drives me!) So, if you are like me and have had the crappiest week and would just rather be lounging at The Westin right about now – then your week just got way better! John and I are Thrive Ambassadors and this year the Thrive Creative Conference is going to be held at The Westin at The Woodlands hotel on February 24-26th! Thrive has partnered with The Westin to giveaway a 1 night’s stay and dinner for 2 to one of you! (Totally jealous, I wish I could enter! haha!)
If you have been following us on instagram this past year, you may have seen our Mug Monday coffee pics! Every Monday this year we shared a coffee mug, which really just a gave John an excuse to hoard, I mean, collect coffee mugs! Wanna guess how many times I heard ” but it is for the blog!” haha! It is okay, I love that he loves collecting them and it is so fun on the weekends, to pick out our mugs from the coffee mug cabinet. Each mug is associated with a memory, place, trip, from a friend/family, or just too darn cute to pass up! So, without further ado- our year in coffee mugs!
With 2017 creeping up, I decided to pick a word to describe what I want to strive towards this year. I chose BOLD. I am not bold by nature and tend to dwell, overthink, and worry about every.little.thing. I want 2017 to be a bold year for me – where I take chances, allow myself to dream, and as weird as it sounds wear bolder lipstick.
John and I are HUGE movie/tv show fans! In all honesty, we watch a wholeeeee lot of TV in our spare time. My favorite thing to do is kick back on a Saturday, cuddle up on the couch with John and the pups, and binge watch TV all day long. I know, I know – there are SO many other productive things I could be doing, but I enjoy TV and I enjoy that John and I like to do that together. It is also a way I can disconnect from my job, blogging, and social media. And when done well, great shows pull you into even greater stories and for a couple hours you may be caught up in the love triangle between Lucas, Peyton, and Brooke, having coffee at Central Perk, or wondering who the girl with the yellow umbrella is. (Can anyone relate? And if you know those references, we for sure would be best friends!
