30 Before 30

Mar 3, 2016 | Posted by Lindsey | 30 Before 30 | 8 comments |

Hi Everyone! Well, my birthday month is officially over. (It was nice to have an extra day this year!) Yes, I milk my birthday for the entire month LOL. I literally just threw away my flowers and balloons yesterday. But in all fairness, I do the same for John! We just LOVE birthdays. This February I turned 27! Officially in the last 3 years of my twenties. I really want to make the most of these nextthree years and tackle (at least) 30 things I have always wanted to do, but have never made the time. Here’s my 30 before 30 bucket list!

30 Before 30

30 before 30, bucket list, birthday, celebrate, to do, our messy table,

My plan is to complete all 30 and then write a blog post for each one. (These are not in any certain order)

  1. Take a calligraphy class
  2. Try paddle-boarding
  3. Hot air balloon over Napa Valley ( I am so terrified of heights, I asked John would it count if it was still tethered to the ground haha!)
  4. Go to Europe
  5. Go on a girls weekend road-trip
  6. Watch the “classics”
  7. Take a class to learn how to make sushi
  8. Host a 3 course dinner party
  9. Stay at a Bed & Breakfast in Fredericksburg, TX
  10. Take a photography class
  11. Take a 1-2 day trip somewhere by myself
  12. Join a book club
  13. Have coffee with a stranger
  14. See the ball drop on NYE in Times Square
  15. Learn to ride a horse
  16. Volunteer
  17. Go on a Saturday morning bike ride
  18. Take a hot yoga class
  19. Declutter my entire house ( including my electronics & organizing photos on computer)
  20. Take a pottery class
  21. Writing getaway in the mountains
  22. Cruise to the Bahamas
  23. Lead a Women’s Bible study
  24. Become a morning person ( or at least create a morning routine)
  25. Send cards to my friends
  26. Take a salsa dancing class
  27. Complete Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Course
  28. Drive a mint-colored scooter
  29. Try indoor rock climbing
  30. Go whale watching

30 before 30, bucket list, birthday, celebrate, to do, our messy table,
I am a goal setter and list maker by nature and am always setting goals for work, health, etc. – but I wanted to create this 30 Before 30 list to push me out of my comfort zone & remind me to make time for adventures and experiences. I’ll do a recap of each one here on the blog along the way.

What are some things you have always wanted to try?No matter your age – a “bucket list” is fun and keeps you trying new things! If you decide to create your own,use #OMTbucketlist and we will follow along!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Lindsey, I really love this idea. I’m not much of a hash-tagger and doubt that becoming one would be first on my list; therefore, I probably won’t be tweeting my list, but I’d be glad to share with you and John if I can come up with one.
I am 51 years old now, so I guess I don’t have quite as much as you for goal fulfillment 🙂
For 30 years leading up to 2014, literally my biggest goal was owning a Honda Goldwing. I even wrote that down more than once. Well, on Valentine’s Day 2014, I got one. Sure, I enjoy riding to work on pleasant days, but the point of a touring motorcycle is to to take long trips. The problem now is finding time and money to go someplace. The longest ride of done so far was to one of your bucket list destinations, Freddericksberg, with John.
I like of your list ideas and may have to barrow a few. I liked the hot air balloon idea, but have also always wanted to hang glide or jump out of a plane. I will work on a good list and let you know ?

Thank you, Steve! I would love to know your list! & I’m sure John would love to help you check a couple things off ( definitely the jumping out of the plane one! – He has talked about that for years!) Regardless of age or amount of items, making a bucket list is just a fun way to challenge yourself to try new things! Even if you just start with a few small things. Look forward to reading your list!

You have officially inspired me to start a list as well. I am terrible at saying someday I’ll do this… Thanks for the motivation. Your list sounds so fun and I can’t wait to see all your adventures.
